Ok, I am renting a horror movie tonight and I was wondering what is the scariest movie EVER in your opinions. I mean I want to be scared out of my mind, not be able to sleep for days, you get the point. Remember I am renting the movie TONIGHT so I need your input as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

Signs was ****ing dumb. Why would an alien that has a weakness for water come to a planet that is 75% water?

the grudge is fairly scary at some points, if you hve no testicles, but if you really want to be scared i'd suggest the japanese (original) version of 'the ring'. the english one is alright but the japanese one is one of the few films to actually scare me.

yeah that "RINGU" was so much freakier than the american version. but "The Ring" was one of the only movies to ever scare me for a night or two... so definately check out the ring.

The Grudge had a few parts that made me jump, kept me awake for a while, but not terribly scary. But that part in the beginning where the Japanese girl went into the attic...that freaked me out...

Watch the original Exorcist with the lights off.

EDIT: I've heard that Land of the Dead will really keep you awake with all the gore and bloodthirsty zombie action.

i dont see how that was very scary, considering most of the movie took place in the courtroom

although i was waiting for something to pop out and make a loud noise in a few of the scenes where its absolutely quiet, so i turned the volume down but nothing ever happened

Halloween is NOT scary...a classic film. But no way scary.

Sarcasm guys, sarcasm.. =P

I didn't find The Shining scary.. At all. I laughed.. lots.

Jeepers Creepers got me to curl up a few times waiting for something creepy to happen the first time I saw it.. but that was it..

I haven't seen any that've made me jump/scare me though...

Uhh...The new 13 Ghosts was pretty good though.

grudge is horrible IMO I wouldnt waste my time. Signs was a great movie not scary just kinda creepy at some times, definatley worth a watch. The shining is amazingly scary, so quiet not knowing what to expect. The poltergeist is actually quite bad, bad effects even for the time, not that scary just my opinion though, as someone said halloween 1 only though, the rest are horrible. 28 days music is incredibly creepy, the whole empty feel makes it pretty scary.

I don't get scared by movies(seriously, I just don't), but here are some of my current favs, while they might not all be scary, they're definately entertaining(meaning gory)--

--Dawn of the Dead(original or remake, any Romero movie kicks ass and is worth a watch actually)
--The Hills Have Eyes(more suspenseful than scary, but still good, the original one and the remake is good)
--Eight Legged Freaks and Arachnaphobia are great if you're afraid of spiders
--Dead Alive is a good early Peter Jackson movie
--House of the Dead will scare the **** outta you. Mainly because throughout it you'll be thinking "How the hell can a movie that sucks this bad be made?"

That's all I can think of right now sorry.

I watched Hide and Seek the other day (the one with the wee kid in the advert going 'Charlie! Charlie! CHARLIE!!!')

I was disappointed at the end that there wasn't an evil head eating monster called Charlie. I'll save you the disappointment and tell you it was her dad's split personality. I'd watch 28 days later. ****ing class! Scariest is probably Nightmare on Elm Street. I usually only realise it's on telly about halfway through and miss some of it though.

hide and seek was a joke, everything tries to have a twist ending now, anyways the ending was exactly the same as the movie secret window which I would also suggest watching. saw 1 and 2 are a waste of time horribly over rated movies, that are as "genius" as people say also has horrible acting, either way regardless of waht people say give hostel a try, the first 45 minutes is a softcore if not hardcore porn though lol so much nudity, anyways the ending was the most intense 45 minutes I've seen in a while.
