My guitar came standard with .10s and i wanna change to .09 cause i find it easier to solo. I ve always put on .10s but now do i have to change anything on my guitar ( Truss rod adjustment, intonation etc ) to use .09s
I'm no expert, but I think you may need to lower your action a tad. But I don't think anything else is needed really.
You might have to adjust the action, if your guitar isnt a set in neck, it could possibily bow, and then you would have to adjust the truss rod. It bows because of the less tension on your neck from going 10 to 9, if im not mistaken.
imo there wouldnt be much damage done to the guitar with a small adjustment in gauges. though like the guys above me said check your action and intonation but the truss rod you shouldnt worry about too much.
kool and aznguitarist happy b-day for tomz 11th is a great day. how old you turning. im gonna be 16
im going to be 15. and yes 11 is a great day
You're probably going to regret going to 9's. I'd stick with your 10's, and work up your finger strength. I have 10 Nickel Rockers on right now, and am going to 11's soon. You just have to work on the strength of your fingers.
JJK I know where you coming from. with My tens i bend EASILY and vibrato EASILY but i find the nines give me that lead tone, cant explain it but, like a twangy tone but 'good' twang
Cool. Well whatever works for you man.
thx for the help
