So, anyone here into Celtic/traditional Irish guitar?

A week or so ago I was inspired (out of nowhere, really) to start learning this song: http://board4.cgiworld.dreamwiz.com/view.cgi?id=koh0130&now=4&jd=-1&ino=128&tmp_no=326

That piece got me all hot and bothered and interested in the realm of Celtic and traditional Irish guitar. For those of that are interested, or just plain didn't know, UG has a pretty good selection of powertabs for this kind of stuff: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/traditional_celtic_tabs.htm . It also has a really accurate powertab for Spatter The Dew, the piece in the video i linked to up there ^^

Or drop D....

I've been trying to lean Spatter the Dew, it's teh pwnz. And Bucks of Oranmore. I just stumbled across all those tabs a few months ago.

I remember this awesome song that I can't find anywhere. I heard it on a streaming old time station ( http://sugarinthegourd.com ). It was called "The Sally Gardens" (not to be confused with "Down By the Sally Gardens").

I love my traditional music, but I've never really listened to this type of stuff. That video is good though; that's just the ticket for me. Thanks for introducing me

No prob.

Spatter The Dew is an EXCELLENT song, and a damn good hand workout... it has a few tricky bits in it.

The main issues for me are the grace notes like at measure 28, and I need to work on my right hand on the six string arpeggios at measure 64. Everything else has been coming pretty well, I want to get a couple of songs down in drop D so I have a decent little set list for that tuning.

Although, man those full arpeggios sound great.
