Alright, I have a GK Backline 600 bass head, and a GK 410 SBX 400 watt cabinet. I was going to plug the head into the amp, but the spot for the 1/4 inch cable was covered up by a plastic bolt. I ripped that off and then plugged the head into the amp.

Now, the head is a 300 watt, so I dont know if this has an effect on it, but it sounds like sh*t. Whenever I try to get it to play loudly, there is a loud buzzing sound that increases with the volume, and even still the highest level isnt that loud.

What can I do to prevent the buzzing and still have the loudness of the amp?

I am confused! You mean you plugged the head into cab? Or you plugged another amp into 600 backline then into your cab? I would never think of anybody doig that, but I don't know. could you explain better please!!!
