ok im changing the strings on my epi les paul today and want to know something

what are the advantages/ disadvantages to stringing a guitar Slash style. by wrapping the strings around the hard tail

Supposedly better sustain, but I'm sure over a long period of time you'd damage the tailpiece.

Sustain doesn't improve, it just makes it easier to bend and you won't break strings as often.

i wonder how it makes it easier to bend, it seems to me it would just make the strings slightly shorter, but since the strings go across the bridge at less of an incline that could do it
