Golden sands
Glistening sands
Glittering, gorgeous, glossy sands
Lie beyond the white picket fences
Of the city of Golden Sands

Fences keeping lives neat
Nicely cutting them into squares
Everyone's kind but nobody cares
In the glistening city of Golden Sands

A nod on the street
A treat at the store
Plastic people
Could they ask anything more?

The life they lead is so blissfully clean
Pounding days into the mosaic
Of life's unending routine

Rosebushes line the streets, spots of bright beauty
Shall we stop for a moment to smell the flowers?
Nay, for we the people have our duty, that is to
Continue seeking answers within white picket fences.

The beat of life continues
Droll pretenses gone, grey dust in the wind
Plastic people looking up at the beating sun
Bigger than the city of Golden Sands

Golden sands
Glistening sands
Glittering, gorgeous, glossy sands
Lie beyond the white picket fences
Of the city of Golden Sands

5th stanza is a bit awkward. I want to keep it though. Any suggestions?

Dude they don't have rich white boy "picket fenses" in the desert, I've been to Saudi Arabia and Iraq they have armed milita with jackhammers and AK-47's.

Nice song though, sounds like a great intro to a cheap sci-fi sitcom.

I wasn't really talking about desert or Saudi Arabia, for some reason I pictured a beach in California. Sorry if I offended anyone with that then...

Thanks for the compliment tho :-D
