It says in the description that they are black. So I would assume that they are just black. Not silver/chrome whatever. Just black.

Well, black isn't really a material, so yeah.

Also, if anyone knows where to get black humbucker covers that are made of chrome/ nickel silver, that would be sweet..Haha.

for...pickups?

They proctect your pickups, and can also provide some measure of shielding.

I just thought black ones would look nice on my uncovered Seymours. But I wanted them made out of chrome or nickel silver.

Why would material matter? They're probably just some cheap type of metal, just painted black.

What are pickup covers for?

Some unscrupulous person will sig that.

EDIT: And to actually contribute to the discussion, I think the metal type may affect the degree of shielding they offer, but I doubt it would make a huge difference and all pickup covers are probably made from the same base metal but coated differently. Those are probably coated with a metal that black paint bonds well to, or maybe not coated at all. Either way I doubt it'll have much of an effect.

Because the material does affect your tone.
