I was looking for a tube head for around 400-800 (yeah, im on a budget), i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? They would be greatly appreciated.

i usually play metal, if that helps.

most people will say peavey valveking and 5150. or a fender deville with pedal

You didn't tell us what currency...
But I'm gonna' suggest a Peavey XXX or Ashdown Fallen Angel (combo's) and for heads, get a used Peavey 5150 or 6150.

I recently tried out a valveking, and the thing sounded like a toy. To me it wasn't a whole helluva lot better than a Spider II, and at least the Spider II has built-in effects. It sounded valvey, and weak. Yuck.
