This is a lead over a chord progression-type thing I recorded recently, and yes I know its a little messy in some places, I'm not gonna try and make up excuses. Overall, just looking for some general pointers. Thanks in advance

Not bad. The rythmn guitar was too quit, I could barley hear it over the lead guitar. It sounded in some parts like you were trying to model it off the Comfortably Numb solo, but hey, maybe that's just me.

Your tone needs some work and like you said its a little sloppy. I still couldn't hear the rythym even if it was coming out of a different speaker as the lead. Crank it up man.

Just clean it up a little bit and it will be good.

Keep at it
