I need some help with my Floyd Rose. I just changed strings, and now the bridge is lifting up from the body. This was never the case before since it was level with the body. I even tried tightening the screws in under the tremelo plate, but it still isn't enough. Can you guys please give me some insight as to what I can do to counter-act the string tension? Thanks for any help.
Get rid of the Floyd Rose and get a regular trem. And you need to bring it to your local shop and get it leveled.
Did you put heaiver gauge strings on? If so, that's most likely your problem. If not then when you were tuning you were tuning to standard pitch and then going to the next string. If you do this by the time you get back to the string you started on it will be quite flat. So what you need to do when you're tuning is to tune whatever string you start on and tune it sharp maybe a half a step to a whole step. I suggest starting on the low e since it is less likely to snap. Then as you move to the next string and so on tune slightly less sharp on each string, that way when you get back to the low e again it should be close enough to use your fine tuners, or just repeat that same process again if it is still too flat.
Thats what I do, but the bridge is still slightly lifted up.
check the neck has a little relief (down bend) in it too, it might be that its too straight since you changed the strings
Well, I just got it almost level. It is good enough for now. I will still take it to a shop and have them set it up though.
check your string guage i had that problem on my charvel when i let my dad buy my strings on his way home
