Does anyone know how those clear acrylic guitars are? Who makes them? Where could I buy one? I have seen a couple of them on ebay but I dont know anything about them.

Those do look cool i think they put a smaller body on then they put like alluminum around it than put the clear body on there. Its probably not true tho. But they do look cool!!! I'm sure they play like any other guitar and i have joe satriani play one in concert and once different lights hit it its awesome

Oh yeah Ibanez makes the best

Keep in mind, they're heavy as fuck, probably as, or even heavier than Les Pauls.

Ampeg makes the original acrylic guitar-the Dan Armstrong model. Dave Grohl has four of these, FYI.

And to who ever said they sound like ****, tone is subjective. Hell, I don't mind the sound of a plywood guitar, for instance.

Ok, this is AT LEAST the third topic like this I've seen in the past two days. Try doing a search next time. Chances are your question has already been answered.

^that's what I was thinking.

BC Rich mainly.

I think the sustain is pretty poor and the tone would be very plastic and unvaried.

they're heavy, overpriced, and made of PLASTIC. And I personally cannot take anyone playing a bright red see through toy seriously, even if they were able to play 5,000 nps.
Dickless.

I saw a few on eBay Australia go for more than several grand. The seller claimed that only 4 of their specific model were ever made in 2006. I'd just get a White Falcon.

i've got a bc rich ice acrylic....very heavy, and it doesn't sound all that great...although the neck plays pretty fast...thats the only good quality about it
Nicks and dents are battle scars...they give a guitar history.
