On my bass I tune it down to a drop c and the low string does not sustain the note like the others. I don't know what it is can someone help.

Try heavier guage strings.

yeah it would be alot better.

For drop C use a guage with a 110 E string at least.

If it is your permanent tuning use a B string tuned up a semitone, you could re-tune it up to E if it isn't but wach it for pulling your neck in and raising your action.
