Lately, my improvisations have been getting really stale. Every scale I use, I get stuck in a rut and end up using the same tricks and stuff. Does anyone know how to help me get over this and start making up good stuff?
you could try improvising without a certain technique you use way to often, so you can develop the other tecniques and make new stuff. for example i use a lot of bends, so i when i cant use em, i start using slides - which I usually never use - and it gives me ideas how i could use that
Listen to other styles and take what you like from them.
Simply, the world was too small for a man of his ambition.
