All the knobs and levers on the right side of this guitar, what do they do? I know one of them is volume control, what is the other one for?

And what about the lever above the knobs?
#2
Oh uh, wow... I dont know. Thats a real tuffie.

Haha just yanking ya' the lower knob is the tone control. The lever switches between the pickups (the square things underneath the strings that pickup the sound)

The top knob makes you play faster, the bottom knob makes you sound like Jimmy Page, and the 'stick' is just for decoration.

The white is grain filler. It's just a beginner/midlevel insrument, don't expect it to look like a $3500 PRS.

Nope no anger only humor. Well just so you know man 1-5A maple is a rating system 1 being lower quality-5 being high quality. I have to go now so I'll teach you some more tomorow...

If you're a guitarist, than you should, you arrogant punk. Wood affects tone, sustain, weight, and durability.

As for this topic, I don't know why it got so many replies. ****. We all have to start somewhere. When I first started, I had no one who played the guitar to talk to and ended up thinking that the tone/volume controls were the pickups when I heard people talk about them. I'm not afraid to admit it. I was ****in' stupid when I started. .

The switch is to switch between the bridge pickup(bottom) Single coil (middle/little guy) and the neck pickup (top)

Thanks, but why would I need to change the pick ups.

I am seriously sorry for asking this stupid stuff, I just never really learned it.
#31
Each pickup gives a different sound, if your playing a beetles number you dont want to sound like thrash metal do you?

ps. I was asking these same stupid questions a month ago.
#32
It's fine but we just had to rip on ya for callin it a stick i think. Anyways you don't need to change between the pickups especially right now it sounds like to me but later on you'll find that you may like to use the neck pickup for one song/part and then switch to the brigde pickup for a different song. They all have their own sound and you'll just have to mess around with them (and everything else) until you find what you like.
P.S. These forums on here are a very very good resource and I hope you haven't decided not to use them anymore but just try to figure out most of the beginning stuff for yourself. Another tip is to read read read everything on here before posting a new forum or else you get replies like these when you could just let somebody else ask the same kind of question and read the serious answers off of theres.

but since i cant afford a 5A maple top or whatever, i dont look into that as much.

i wont buy a guitar with an alder or agathis body b/c it just feels cheap.
