im a little short on cash for new strings so i just wanted to know if boiling ur strings actually works or not and if so what exactly do u do

it kinda worked for me but didnt changed the sound dramitically my strings still sounded pretty dead. But its worth a try.

Well, actually it does. I've heard that before he started getting really big and could afford strings (or be sponsored by companies that gave him free strings), Eddie Van Halen used to boil his strings. What this does is it gets all the dirt, grease, and other crud off of your strings so that they will sound "fresh". Of course, you can also go to the store and buy string cleaner that will do the same thing, but since you mentioned you were short on funds, I would recommend the "good-ol' fashioned" methods.
