How must we know what songs you know and don't know?

I could say, Stairway To heaven, Nothing Else matters...

But really...just play what you know.
Surely you must be able to play at LEAST 5 songs of your fan artists if you are good enough to play a live show.

im playing at a small venue,and i was just curious of what other ppl thought,i know a good bit of songs apparently,and good riddance and uve gotta hide ur love away are the best songs that i can think of to play live,plus they are nice to sing along too.Im going to be singing too so i cant do anything thats out of a decent voices range,no axl rose.but i was just looking for opinions,so if u wanna help out cool,but dont post anything if ur not and u just feel like making a fool out of me today

You rented out a venue and you're just going to cover any song you can play? If I were you I wouldn't place good riddance. It's pretty old and a cliche guitar song to do. If I were you I would make stuff up that people haven't heard already. Because if your just playing old songs that people already know, then why would they just listen to the radio?

good point but i still want them to have a good time,and i think that they will with good riddance,every other place taht ive played it,it turned out to be one of the most liked

but what im looking for here is ideas on what to play

if ur looking to learn something quick, jack johnson's music is pretty easy to play while singing. his voice is nothing spectacular so u shouldnt have much of a problem. also pearl jams songs can usually be put together pretty quickly.
