i just bought my first electric guitar but the 7th fret on the 5th string buzzes. What can i do to stop the buzzing.

either take off that string and put a new one on, but if that doesnt work u might need a truss rod adjustment

no, dont take off that string. you need to adjust the truss rod or to raise the action a little.

There could be a few reasons, if it was cheap then it could very well be alot of them; however, a little buzz is perfectly fine as long as it isn't comming through on your amp. If you just got the guitar then be sure to get it set up by a professional. Have them check the nut, the neck alignment, the bridge, ect.
