yes it helps with both. it can be a bit overwhelming if your just starting out, there is a lot of shred type stuff in this book. if youve been playing a while it will still take time to get through, but you'll be a lot better when your done
any one have a good book for a beginner to shred to music?
im just getting into lead guitar..and im kinda fast...i mess around with my metronome alot and do chromatic stuff constantly.. i make up different exercises, etc.

but i need to find a good book to bring to my guitar teacher to really get into it.
