I am not caring so much about price, because this will be a sort of goal bass, for when I am actually earning a steady income and I get more skilled at bass playing..

but what do you think would be a good 6 string to go for? I was think a RBX776, or one of those RBX-JM2 John Myung signature basses. What is a good, moderately expensive 6 string? Or maybe even a moderately priced one I can mod to sound godlike?

Sorry, this has probably been asked many times, but I have searched and not really found a good answer.

The bass SHOULD cover the bottom end at the very least.

SR1006EWN (From Japan) will be roughly 1.4k (w/ shipping).

Yamaha RBX6JM will be ~ 500 USD.

The Yamaha TRB1006 is a very good instrument I hear.

The John Pattitucci is nice.

The BTB1206e is preffered over the SR by some people.
