So is this a good deal? I know the other JS models go for a lot more, but is this one going to be a cheaper knock off? I'm really interested since this is pretty much my dream guitar, and the price is awesome, especially for Northern Ontario where I live. Any input would be appreciated!

the js100 is crap, buy an rg1570 instead.

Don't believe me? http://www.jemsite.com/ibanez/spec_js.htm (scroll down to the js100, then read the "notes" box)
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

yep. No Dimarzio pickups and a very sub-par bridge. You're only paying for the JS name on it.

If you really like the JS type of shape try the S470 (not as curvy but not as pointy as the RG). Mahogany body which isn't the basswood in the JS series but mahogany is a great wood in any case.

http://www.acclaim-music.com/live/customer/product.php?productid=3953&cat=&page=1 )(the difference is practically only cosmetic...flamed maple tops look cool )

Or one of these for a very nice shred-tastic guitar on a budget
