hey guys. i just got an epiphone vintage g-400 and im not sure if i like it. its pretty neck heavy and it seems like u have to lean to the left a lot or tip it up to play it. it's pretty good sounding for stuff like ac/dc kind of rock but nothing else. i want a happy medium between the red hot chili peppers kind of sound that sounds good clean and ac/dc kind of crunch. anybody have any suggestions? it cant be more than 300. thanks

For kids like you I always suggest a nice (Fender) Strat.
Go for it.

its not just about the tone. the guitar is kind of hard to play because its neck heavy and you have to reach a lot more and lean more to the left. its just harder to play than most guitars ive played.

haha, i played a Gibson SG today actually. yes they are neck heavy but you will get used to it. the problem is that you want the sounds of RHCP and ACDC. RHCP uses strats and ACDC uses of coarse an SG. There is a fine line between humbuckers and singlecoil.
Maybe you could have a split coil installed? Im not sure how much that would cost though.

Washburn WI64D. Humbuckers for AC/DC sounds, and coil tap for single coil sounds. $300 on www.music123.com. Just search for "Washburn WI64D" and it will come up. I belive I've recommended it to you before. It should work fine for you. It also comes with a deluxe Washburn gigbag.

Or, if you want to fix your SG from it being neck heavy, maybe try a leather strap? I've heard it helps a lot with neck heaviness. You could take it to a guitar store and just put a leather strap on it and see if it helps. If it doesn't, you're still within the 30 day return period.
