^Yup.
You can adjust it though, by taking the rubber stops off the foot bit, and by modding some stuff inside.

Yeah, the mods are relatively easy as well

yea thats what i thought it was...but on mine...when rocking back and forth, there isnt like an in between stage, it goes from muffled, to nasal....there isnt like a "transition" stage..making any sense?

and what are the mods i can do?

Your wah's potentiometer controls your sweep. Try taking off the bottom plate, loosen the teeth shaft that rotates the potentiometer, and adjust the way its positioned just by rotating it up or down. You want to do this while your wah is plugged into the amp so you could hear the difference when you adjust the pot.

Hope that makes sense.

the sweep is how smooth/sharp/whatever the transition from the bassy sound when you have it in heel position to the trebly sound you get pushed forward in the toe position.

Most wahs have the range it moves over fixed but some (that Dunlop 535Q for example) you can move it over the place (since a standard wah doesn't really work well when you're up on the high strings from example as the frequencys there are practically unafffected).

Another aspect of the sweep is the actual movement as you rock the thing forward/backward, many complain that the Dunlop Crybabies have way to much of the bass side in there. The Fulltone wahs for example have a slower transition from one side to the other.

Move your foot slower

its really a thing of learning to control it overall, wahs are instruments of their own and you have to learn how to use them
#12
trust me ive experimented with it. fast, slow, any other tempo.
is it the settings i have on it?
what are some good weeping demon settings?
and it sounds fine when i play clean, but as soon as the distortion kicks in... no more good sounding wah haha

does it actually have a pot or is it Optical?

i have a bad outlook on opticals after my run-in with a boss PW-10.

if it is optical you could probably blame that for the lack of sweep

check out this page, it will allow you to swap caps in the circuit to change the sweep range....something like revocing the rubber stopers wont do this

Some wahs have controls that change the sound of the sweep, like the Dunlop 535Q.

Believe me, it's not easy to find. The red one is from '89 and Gibson actually issued that particular model with a factory Floyd for just that year. The other one is actually a Burny and believe it or not, it's nicer than the 5 Gibson Les Paul's I've owned. They're only sold in Japan because of the lawsuit, they're made to the exact same specs as a Gibson LP. Great guitar and it was only $900 brand new. All their current models can be found here:

I can't say enough good things about my Burny.

How do you remove those stoppers? Mines are glued into there and I can't get them off...
