I was wondering what you guys would recomend out of the following guitars...right now I am leaning towards the RIC because of all the sweet reviews its getting and I love the look but I also love the Gretsch's. Let me know. (BTW the RIC's price they emailed me for the fireglo is like $1240)

Try them out.
Ricks and Gretsches are quite different guitars, choose which one you like best when you're trying them out.

Yeah, it really is apples & oranges. Rics have a thin/thick neck that you have to get used to. Personally, I'd love a Ric just for the sound - it's the classic glassy twang that outtwangs the twangiest Tele or Strat.

personally i think that ric is hideous, but thats just personal preference.. if it were me i would go with the Gretsch G6119-1962HT Tennessee Rose, but you should certainly try them out first, dont just rely on us

Give 10 UGers a rope and ask them to pull. 4 will push, 1 will ask for buttsecks, 2 will tell you get an Ibanez and the last 3 will start complaining about Line6 Spiders.

I wasn't plannin on just relying on you guys, but there isn't anywhere near me that I can just go try one the closest is about 40 miles...what are the gretsch's pro's and con's and the RIC's pros and cons sound or playability wise
