I am going to be building a guitar in the near future and I was wondering which pickups would be good with a 5150 II and a mahogany body? I would put in a set of EMGs, but I want to try something new. I play alot of metal stuff (hence the 5150) like God Forbid, Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage, Slayer, Pantera, Black Label Socitey, and Megadeath. I do like high output pups with a good thick tone. I'll put up some pictures of the build when I start the actual build, its either gonna be an ESP SV or a ESP M-II style body.
As I see the ignorance of humanity engulfing reason and sanity like a wave of perpetual defeat and misery I ask myself, when the hell is everyone going to shut up and actually think?

Bareknuckle, unless you're on a budget. But there are other pickups other than these two brands that would be good for you.
A dwarf might hear you. What then?

Slayer, BLS (Zakk anyway) and (I think, not sure) God Forbid use EMG actives. Dave Mustaine used A Seymour Duncan JB in the Bridge and Jazz in the neck (He recently got a pair of signature Seymour Duncan Active pickups), Micheal Amott uses a Jb in the Bridge and '59 in the neck. Dimebag used Bill Lawrence pickups, L-500 in the bridge I think but I'm not sure what in the neck (He later used A Seymour Duncan Dimebucker in the bridge and '59 in the neck, but BL's would probably be better for a Pantera sound)

EDIT:

Other Pickup companies:

* Seymour Duncan
* Dimarzio
* EMG

Those would be some of the most popular

I'll keep those in mind, but I don't want the brands, I want the models.

EDIT: and there is really no price range if you are wondering.

Bill Lawrence L500xl bridge/l500c neck
Swineshead Xbucker bridge, condor neck
Bareknuckles hmmmmm I'm really not familiar enough to pick a set here. Maybe nailbomb/miracle man?
It's a fine line between clever and stupid.
