you build up strength in all of your fingers while increasing your speed and coordinate your fretting and picking. i would say it works

I like this guy, he's UG's Greek, and he just told your ass in two paragraphs. And I once spent 5 minutes watching his avatar.

also try 1324, and 1423 and 3412 those are my favorite, but any combination will do.

Google Chromatic Scales and you'll get different patterns too. Some have hammer-ons and pull-offs to help too.

People don't like Dave Mustaine because he created something that owned Metallica in just about every single aspect of thrash metal.

I find this more helpful

| 7 8 9 10
| 5 6 7 8
| 4 5 6 7
| 3 4 5 6
| 2 3 4 5

it helped me build speed but i use a lot of different variations and patterns from 1234, 4321, 2314, 4312, and so on goin all around the next, experiment with it when you have the time, but i also wouldnt recommend making it a focal point of practice either.

^^ wtf.

it does work.
it enhances finger coordination. u know you have a weak finger. my ring finger is weak before, but now it's same as the rest.
so yea.
it works.
i suggest doing that while watching tv.
coz then it wont be boring. and plus, i'm sure u can do it withoutlooking at the fretboard. lol.
