what Hz should it be set to?

yeah, it does, 440 hz is a specific tone, 445 is different, so your guitar will sound different (probably not as good as) a guitar tuned at 440

That's not true. He will still sound good, just not playing with a group or cd tuned to A=440, which almost everyone does.
