i can palm mute fairly good but i have a few questions

1, were do you put you strum hand when you PM?
2, were do you put your strum hand when you alt pick and PM?
3, how do you play real fast alt pick PM and the hit a un palm muted note (eg beast and the harlot main riff)

It really depends on the song you're playing as far as where to put your palm and how much pressure to put on the strings.

  • It depends on the type of palm-mute you want... for a general palm-mute my palm will be resting about half an inch from the bridge.
  • In the same place as #1.
  • You take your palm off the strings. Or, perhaps lightly lift it to avoid any unwanted string noise, but enough to get your note ringing out properly.

when you pm you want your hand right on the bridge for the best sound, your picking hand, the rest of the questions just get better with time and practeice
