I have a custom built Fender tele with seymour duncans installed.......this guitar seriously rocks it is my pride and joy.......well a buddy of mine who has not been playing long has a squier affinity tele..........he went out and bought the same pickups that i have in my ax...........but plugged into the same equipment they sound completely different..........and i mean myself playing both of them they sound way way way different.........Could this be the difference in wireing between the afinity and my Standard. My guitar started life out as a standard fender tele the ones made in mexico.........i bought a swamp ash sunburst body and took it to the guitar shop and had all the work done there.

My question is this: is the wireing in the affinity series squire vs my mexican tele standard that different that it would make that big of difference. #2 should i think about rewireing my guitar to get more out of it so to speak. Am I not getting what i could out of my pickups.

The pickups in question are the litlle '59 on the bridge http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/telesdescr.shtml#Little59forTele

STR-2 hot on the neck http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/telesdescr.shtml#Hot. Thank you

Am I getting everything i can get out of them by my guitar being wired standard mexican tele......or should i consider wireing mine like an american standard. Would i gain anything in output, tone, or less hum (even though right now its pretty quiet as is)

I think it's the wood but it may have something to do with the wiring too but don't quote me on that I'm not sure.
