Dude, this is like posting a bass question in the guitar section. Waaaaaayy wrong section.
But anywho, they are one of the greatest bands. I don't care what you have to say about how dumb I am because I think they are one of the greatest.
#6
I think this should be in the 'steretype drunk irish/scottish band' forum, but seeing as how there isnt a tread called that, id put it in other
#8
I think they belong as much in here as in any. I'd say a pop-punk band. Nothing wrong with that.

Got some good sing-a-long tracks, yeah.
#9
half there songs dont make sense but there still good, 'within a mile of home' is my favourite
#10
all i think abou when i think of flogging molly is "drunken lullabies" or whatever that song that was on Tony Hawks was called.

How do they not make sense?

I love Flogging Molly, as well as Irish punk in general. My favorite song from them has to be "Roision Dubh(To Youth)". I love that song.

Flogging Molly........
i love them
i love their style and how they pull it off with a traditional Irish sound but an American style song
#13
yeah they are great, but belong in the punk forums

#17
I love Flogging Molly, mainly because they have such a different sound. I saw them in May I think and they were amazing.
#19
they are one of the greatest irish punk band but some could consider them pop punk but i mean theres lots of punk bands and im not gonna start contraversy so i wont say any but seven deadly sins is the greatest song by them imo

flogging molly owns my soul.

I CAN TOTALLY EXPLAIN THAT... I HAD... uh... UNPROTECTED SEX WITH A PORCUPINE

Flogging Molly is total asskickery. Anyone else ever see them live? They put on a hell of a show.
Some of my favorite songs are Black Friday Rule, Sentimental Johnny, Far Away Boys, Every Dog Has Its Day, What's Left of the Flag, and To Youth (Sweet Roisin Dubh).

Pretty decent, though sometimes the......folkiness (if you get what I mean) gets on my nerves.

Hmm judging from your pic you'd fit in more with a fat busted tribute.

I usually don't like big venues, being shows feel insincere and boring, but they ruled when I saw them live.

(-20 punk points...man I really let myself go)
#26
When I saw them, it was in a pretty small place. You could get a pretty good view of them no matter where you were.
#28
I've never been a fan of their style or their recordings, but if it was cheap I'd consider seeing them just because of how good they're supposed to be live.
#30
I got "Whiskey On A Sunday" yesterday, it's fucking great.

My friend got it and I concur.

When I saw Flogging Molly it was at a really small, intimate, venue and the kids were packed in tight.

The had Gogol Bordello open for them and it was [Irish Accent] friggin' great [/Irish Accent]
#31
Yeah, they're a great live band. We went to see them at the Minnesota Irish Fest where they did a free show last year. I hadn't heard much of their stuff by then, but they just blew me away. Too bad they're not coming back this year . . .

Dude, I owe punk points all over town.

Which means I probably shouldn't tell you guys that I like FM...

There's nothing wrong with Flogging Molly, I dunno why people are ashamed to admit liking them.
#34
Meh. I used to like them when I was younger

Probably because the majority of annoying, pretentious, "everyone who knows more about punk music than me is an eliteist" punk forum noobs and Hot Topic trolls adore them. But I agree that there's nothing wrong with liking them.

Haha, barely anyone around here even knows who they are, so I'm good there.
#36

I'm not Irish (that I know of) and I still like them.

Swagger was quite good...

best use of a music store gift certificate, ever...use it on a band that i didn't really have an opinion on besides that i thought the song "Drunken Lullabies" was good, and on top of that i get it on vinyl (no in-car sing-alongs for me...then again my record player's portable...). and while everyone's on the bandwagon of being embarrassed to like them for whatever reason *jumps on*, i got a live Dead Boys vinyl on the same certificate to balance it all out
