Hi all,

This is somethin I've been thinkin about for a while.
Most guitars have silver bridges and tailpieces.
This looks good on some finishes, but I think it looks awful on some guitars.

Took a look at this beauty... http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/PRS-Guitars-Standard-24-Electric-Guitar-with-Moon-Inlays?sku=519910

To me, the silver bridge looks out of place.
You have this cool cherry colour, and then this block of silver.
I know a guitar needs a bridge, but how about if some manufactures made different colour bridges to go with the colour of the guitar?
This may seem like a rant, but its just somethin i wanted to write up.

Thanks for ready.

I agree. It'd look better with gold hardware.

I never really thought about that but you're right. Do you mean colors like red, or any other given color, or just like silver, gold, and such? I like the idea of my strat with a black bridge

Yea, I mean for most finishes on guitar.
Some bridges/tailpieces look out of place if they're silver.
Some gibson les pauls look bad. Like this one...http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Les-Paul-Standard-60s-Neck-Electric-Guitar?sku=517188

Some of the finishes are so cool, and then you have a big silver blob.
The same goes for those pickups.
Would look better with the other humbucker that is black. (The name escapes me)

to me the basic inlays ruin it.

That is also true.

Basically there's has to be a perfect harmony amongst the (color of the) hardware, the inlays, (color of the) finish, binding/no binding, topwood, fingerboard wood...etc.

Thank god for Custom guitars.
