I think i've found my tube head everyone, ive been through many amp threads and this is it. I found it on musicians friend, it is$400, all tube, FX loop, single channel, anyone had experience with this head? does it sound like a good buy? I play Metalcore along the lines of Bullet For My Valentine, A7X, and Atreyu.

Its exactly not out yet like mentioned, but for the price it looks likes its going to be pretty good if you're looking for a british type tone (not sure how much gain its going to have). Peaveys low end tube stuff has gotten good reviews so far.

also coming out soon is this: http://visualsound.net/Amps_wh.htm
simple clean tube amp for use with pedals if thats your thing

If it's the same quality of the valve king I will certainly look to play one, and maybe even buy one secondhand.
Who knows...

I can't wait to try out this amp...I don't really think it would be good for your genre though. From what I get it's supposed to be a British Marshall type rock tone...
I'm not very active here on UG currently.
I'm a retired Supermod off to the greener pastures of the real world.

It's basically a Marshall ripoff, does it sound good?
Well, we'll find out.
Based on the stuff peavey's been puting out I think we will all be pleasently surprised.

^But you will realzise that it soudns liek crap (SS distortion, a distortion pedal is jsut an SS pre am mroe or less, so you get SS disotrtion) compared to tube distortion, since if your using a distortion pedal on a tube amp, you might as well have gotten an SS amp.

For you a Peavey XXX or 5150/6505 is exactly what you need.

The windsor is far from what you want it to sound like. Don't anticipate this being a great amp so you won't get dissappointed if it lacks, or be surprised if it delivers.
Ibanez -> Peavey -> Eardrums

Apparently I'm on some list of people to listen to..?
