I would go to a music store and try it out and see if you like the sound or not for the smaller one.

Then if you like the sound then make sure the sound is the same for the half-stack and if you have the money i would buy the half stack because its a good deal.

i cant get sam ash links to work. but in general half stack doesnt make sense with a solid state.

Spend a little tiny bit more and get a full tube Peavey combo. You'll just want to upgrade from the vox later to a full tube amp, so why not just skip the upgrading and go tube now for just a bit more?

Look at the Peavey Valveking and Classic series.
