I bought the JCM 900, and no matter how hard i try, im not a satisfied as i should be =(.
I figured that its just my guitar, or that i should haev used my ears before my eyes. If i do decide to sell it, i would be looking into higher gain amps.

Is it the gutiar or amp?

Are you looking for a very heavy high gain tone? What bands?

You could try boosting the JCM with an OD pedal to get more gain, but a squier bullet IS NOT going to get you a huge humbucking sound. Ever....sorry.

Did you try the amp before you bought it?
#3
Probably your guitar... a squier bullet is the cheapest squier avaible

if not that, it could be the cabinet your using

Yep, definatly the guitar and cabinet, its some crate speaker brand

I agree, try it with a different guitar...

i was sabing for a gibson sg, but im thinking a fender fat strat because its cheaper. Is that a good idea?

^A Fat Strat could work for you. Really, any guitar with a humbucker should help. How much are you willing to spend on a guitar?

I'd start with a new axe, you don't have to spend a lot to get something good. Schecter seems the deal of the century.

I'd also consider either changing out your cabinet or changing the speakers. Check out both Avatar and Vader cabs.
It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

Definately different guitar.

And don't get the Fat Strat for metal, get the SG if you liked it.

It seems like you have bought yourself a fine peice of meat and trown it in the trash to eat it. Get a good cab, good guitar and a OD and your JCM 900 will glow like an angel!

get an EQ pedal, gain is overrated

If someone wants gain, they want gain. May not be your cup of tea, but he may want it.
#15
Yeah, EQ pedal really doesnt solve any issues Right now...
Here's how I see it...
****ty guitar->Good Amp=Good Sound (Not The Best Sound, but good sound)
Here's your problem, you're running a ****ty guitar, into a half good amp, half ****ty amp.
It's like buying an incredible sound system and listening through ultra cheap headphones.
You need a good cab with good speakers.

get the cab first and then save for a gibson sg and you be pwning yo house down and or try schecter if you low on budget.

Just an influence.

in my defence, with an EQ pedal you can make single coils sound much thicker and closer to humbuckers. And I don't think he wants more gain, he just wants more fatness.

Your best shot at a good tone would be to replace your guitar, your guitar is the place where all the tone starts from.

Get everything new, apart from the 900.

Your situation is like having a dump in a gold-plated toilet.
#19
Get a new cabinet and a new guitar.
