As far as Mics go, what is more important, the mic itself or the amp you run it through? Also, does anyone have any advice on the best way to go about putting together a decent setup for vocals? I can't seem to get them loud enough to be heard clearly over the rest of the band.
she said you got no heart kid

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

mic, amp and speakers are important. Get a PA rig, the mic is not that important for life stuff. Get something halfway decent, pay atleast $30 for something from musicians friend and you should do ok. That's the mic, not the PA.

and don't worry, I spent about half a year without a mic stand, we got a friend to hold the mic during practice, and we ran it through extra inputs in all the guitar amps.
