a distortion pedal Distorts the sound...like umm...I dont know haha, hitting distortion on your amp. A wah pedal bends the sound i think.

distortion pedal adds gain to your amp....making it sound.....well...distorted...a wah pedal will make your notes make a wah type of sound lol....its pretty well discripted in the name...

Uhm, a distortion pedal distorts the sound. Give it a heavy tone with growl. (See any metal genre of music for example).

A wah pedal makes the note you play go "Wah-Wah". Pretty creative eh? (See most Kirk Hammett solos for an example.)
