I'm gonna get rid of my Tom Delonge Strat because I bought it back when I was guitar ignorant and didn't realize it's lack of versatility. Anyway, I was thinking about eBay, but then a Guitar Center opened up near me and they have a few Ibanez guitars that are between $300-$400, which I would probably install EMGs in a few weeks after I bought it.

Anyway, the question is: Does Guitar Center give a decent amount of money for a trade in, or am I better off doing something else with the Strat?

Anything where you trade something to Guitar Center is always bad.
Ibanez -> Peavey -> Eardrums

Apparently I'm on some list of people to listen to..?

Not always. If you trade it in within a year of warranty, you get the full amount back that you paid for the guitar/amp etc.

I traded in my $400 Schecter Gryphon and $170 Line 6 Spider II each for their bought prices ($382 and $170) and got $46 back after I got my Artcore and Vox AD15VT.

EDIT: That is, if you buy it from them.

In this case...

1) How much did you buy it for?
2) How long have you had it?

I need a second guitar. The Jem is cool, but the trem keeps me in one tuning (Drop-D). I was looking for something that I could easily modify and that has a hardtail.

And yeah I need a new amp. I was going to fix my Crate and sell it somewhere. Then I'd put the money towards this XXX combo that's been at my local store forever.
