Not really, seeing as they didn't want the album cover. It was one of their back-room people who wanted it (it's his 12/4 year old daughter). I don't blame the band for that. Saying that, it's one of the most famous album covers in history Lovedrive, Love at First Sting, In Trance and Taken By Force were all changed as well.

Favourite things about this band; first of all that extraordinary debut with the Schenkers, then hiring Uli Jon Roth. Klaus Meine's amazing voice; some sexcellent lyrics; memorable riffs; the fact that their recording a new album.

why would any person, back room or otherwise, want to put a pornographic picture of their young child on the front of an album by a famous band selling millions of albums...and for that matter, why would the girl agree?
#15
That is a common misconception that it is pornographic. She is in a provocative position but we cannot see anything. Yes, it's racy, but by its definition, it is not pornographic. As for the state of mind of her father, I don't know. He saw the name of the album and had a crazy idea. For the girl, she'd accept because her father would have told her to do it. It's that simple.

To answer the question for the poll, I wouldn't choose either. Not even Sails of Charon. I'd go with Yellow Raven. That bass line is the sex.

Can anyone tell me, isn't the album cover for Virgin Killer illegal?

It was in the US, but I think they calmed down over that until a few years ago, and now I believe it to be banned again, but I'm not sure. I hear bits of news here and there. I'm on their official forum and no one has really said anything about it so it might not be.

Hi Zeppelin/DC 56,

Rock on Zeppelin/DC 56 I am also one of die hard Scorpions fans. I love many things about them. Mind-blowing high pitch voice of Klause and great guitar like Rudolf Schenker. For me, they are one of the greatest ballad maker bands in the 80's. I love "Lady Starlight", but I also have their extended lists of ballads
1. Wind of Change
2. Always Somewhere
3. When the Smoke Is Going Down
4. Still Loving You
5. Send Me an Angel
6. Under The Same Sun
7. Lady Starlight
8. Lonely Night
9. You and I
Check out my this ballad lists on my website

Which album's that on? I can't remember hearing it. As far as intro's go, Yellow Raven (déjà vu?) is the best.

Its on love at first sting, I think its the third track. The same thrill is just a filler song for that album, its quite obvious.

I don't have all of the albums. Might as well list them, as we're the only three seemingly in this thread.

Lonesome Crow
Fly to the Rainbow
Taken By Force
Tokyo Tapes
Blackout
Crazy World
Classic Bites
Moment of Glory
Unbreakable

Hopefully the next album in the next couple of months too.
#29
i've been listening to them for a couple of years, but only about 5 songs a friend burned for me. what cd would you recommend? i just learned they were german..that surprised me although it made more sense afterwards, especially with a name like Klaus Meine

My mind is going. I can feel it.
#30
Because they've changed their sound so much, get a "Best of..."

Even better, get the Platinum Collection, that has music from all eras.

My dad is a big fan of blackout. When I started playing guitar, he sat me out on the patio and had me listen to it

What's the best Uli album and what's the best Michael Shenker album?

Uli = Probably a toss-up between Fly to the Rainbow and Taken By Force.

As for Michael Schenker, he was only lead guitarist on Lonesome Crow, although he appeared on Coast to Coast, which is an instrumental on the Lovedrive album, alongside Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs.

No one like you has an infinately better intro than rock you like a hurricane. I actually dislike scorpions stuff after blackout; its just too commercial and watered down for me. The Zoo; now that is a kick asS tune. You forgot to list the album Animal Magnetism, which preceeded Blackout I think. Blackout is one of my favorite albums of all time, right up there with Led Zep II and Judas Priest Screaming for Vengence.

Good guitar players all around, the Schenkers and Uli Jon Roth was very good. Jabs is good maybe not as good as Roth.

Clause Meine is an awesome singer

I like them in general but find their songs are too repetitive. Good riff that get beat to death for 4 or 5 minutes. A little more effort to create more diverse and insteresting songs and they would have beena great band.

Post above dude121; Who are not the same. I think he means Schenker maybe. There were two Schenker's playing in Scorpions. Rudolph played on all albums while Micheal only played on the first I think.
