What are some songs that have basic stumming patterns or change notes along with syllables? Songs similair to Dashboard - Hands Down, Jack Johnson - Banana Pancakes, Matt Costa - Sunshine, Herbie Hancock - Stitched Up.

almost anything by nirvana
Skill without imagination is craftsmanship and gives us many useful objects such as wickerwork picnic baskets. Imagination without skill gives us modern art.

Tom Stoppard

for the bassists, alot of TrustCompany is real easy to sing/play cause they stay open string or on really close frets. ive only been playing for 2 months and ive already learned how to do 4 songs by them. and anything nirvana
#7
just about any green day. brain stew was the first song i learned and could sing to.
#8
Wish You Were Here, Tangerine, Rain Song, Kashmir

But those probably wont suit your tastes (hehe, dashboard...)

Actually, I have problems singing and playing brain stew. The vocals just dont follow the guitar part. She, Basket Case, Redundant, stuff like that's nothing for me, but for some reason brain stew is hard to follow.

Some Damien Rice stuff, like cannonball. Everlong might be easy too(by foo fighters)
#2 fanboy of Conor Oberst pm frd_mrshall to join

Iron Man definately.

What makes it so easy is because the rythm riff is exactly the same as the lyrics melody.

Polly by Nirvana was the first I learnt to play and sing.
Feel free to ignore my ranting.

A recent study shows that 8% of teenagers listen to nothing but music with guitars in it. Put this in your sig if you're one of the 92% who isn't a close-minded moron.

Cheap amps are "that bad". They suck up your tone like cocaine at Kate Moss' party.

I have never been one for singing and playing, but when i do occasionally do so, I can sing Libertines stuff very easily, Oasis too, and yeah the pop punk genre is easy i guess.

Alexi Laiho sings and plays CoB's songs =D
He slows down a bit when he actually sings though, lawl.

So, if you could actually play the songs and you like to scream, try CoB.

If not, you could try like.. Brand New or anything like that.

Most Brand New songs are just strumming.
Learn the pattern and they're easy.

Same here, but anything along those lines (4-5 chords, not too fast) should work.
