What are some metal albums you see as underrated? Stop At Nothing by Dying Fetus is one for me.
#3
a blaze in the northern sky, later melodic carcass (heartwork) that's all i can think of
#4
Marilyn Manson's "Holywood" and any Buckethead album (cept the new one)
Warrior Generation X Double Cutaway - EMG 85's
Schecter C1 Classic - ZW EMG's
Fender Strat - DG20 EMG's
Yamaha Acoustic-Electric
Metal Zone
Roland Cube 60
BIG STUBBIES!
etc.
#5
actually I dont think just because they arent' well known means that they're underated. think about it. Maybe they just didnt get the exposure. like popular bands

Leviathan by Mastodon is pretty underrated too, IMO

+1 to Mastodon, even though I'd say Remission is a tad bit more underrated.

Slayer's Show no Mercy and Hell Awaits.
#13
Slayer - Hell awaits, Obituary - Slowly we rot, Darkthrone - Under a funeral moon, Venom - Welcome to hell & At war with satan, Mayhem - Live in Leipzig. That's all I can think of right now.
#14
Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind
Carcass - Swansong
Both really underrated albums, IMO.
Oh yeah, and also Obituary - Back From The Dead

none of those are underrated. the bands are relatively well known, therefor, so is their discography.

Ahhh this is kinda hard......hmmmm House Of God by King Diamond?
- Treat people the way you would like to be treated.
- Don't do to others what you wouldn't like others to do to you.
- Live and let live.
- Always tell the truth.
- If someone looks at you, just give them a nice smile they won't soon forget

Underrated does not mean not well known. I listed those albums as underrated because I don't feel they get the amount of respect they deserve. Of course they are all well known albums but I feel that they should be even moreso. If you would like me to list albums that are unknown then I'll be happy to do that for you but they wouldn't be underrated. I thought about putting the album Empyrean Sky - The Snow White Rose of Paradise on that list because almost no one has heard it and it's absolutely amazing. But that doesn't mean it's underrated because everyone who I've talked to that's heard it thinks it's incredible.

No. Wrong. Shall we take Morbid Angel as an example for this one? MA are extremely well known. Formulas Fatal to the Flesh is pretty much never talked about. It's an awesome album though. It doesn't get anywhere near the credit it deserves, hence, it is underrated.

Anata - Under a Stone With No Inscription

Agreed.

Also, Si Monvmentvm Reqvires, Circvmspice isn't talked about alot around here. It should be.

so i might of come of as a little harsh.........ha. that was funny though.

i still think it is hard to have an under-rated morbid angel album.....maybe it is under-rated relative to the other albums, but it is still well known because the band has a huge reputation.

sorry if i come off arrogant, but it is how i feel.

Remission-Mastodon deserves much more credit if only for the songwriting. De Profundis-Vader is on that I NEVER hear talked about but has some killer tracks on it. Also Abigail-King Diamond and King Diamond in general is someone that I dont feel ever gets the credit he deserves.

Deathspell Omega - Kenose [Best of their albums, IMO, but people are too busy shitting themselves over SMR,C to notice.]
Ulver - Bergtatt [Better than Nattens' Madrigal by far; intelligent black metal at its very finest.]
Abigor - Opus IV [Very original, being a juxtaposition of chaos and melody, yet gets near no praise.]
Akercocke - Chronozon [So well constructed it almost deserves the term progressive.]
Nae'blis - Beyond the Light [Very well put together depressive black metal, yet stays obscure.]
Urfaust - Anything [Anyone who has listened to this band knows they deserve way more praise than they get.]
