Im a guitarist pretending to be a bass player in my new band..what gauge of bass string would be the equivilant to guitar 9-42's-light but not too light!.

40-100... 45-105 is the normal size... I really suggest just getting the normal size...

They also make 30-85 and 35-90...

I like 9s on guitar and 40s on bass.

I'd go with 40s if you like 9s.

35? Ew, that's so light. The smallest I've seen was 40-90 I think, maybe 40-95.

Anyway, I guess 40-100 would be what you want, maybe 40-95. Buy a pack of each and see what you think.
