the screw that keeps the strap button in place stripped the hole that it goes into, so now the screw always falls out. so should i just get a longer screw and drill that in. or should i do something else?

fill it with toothpicks and woodfiller, sand the end that's sticking out down, and drill a new hole, you can put some touchup paint if there's a noticable umpainted spot

putting in a longer screw is easier, or you can do what seek_&_destroy said

i would suggest a dowel..not some crummy toothpick...

the wood filler is good but wood glue is better IMO...stronger.

when you redrill the hole look for some screw in thread posts...they have big teeth like on a Sheetrock screw but you put them in with a big Allen wrench and then a threaded metal rod or machine screw can be put into the new post that's in the wood...they hold up in MDF board under the weight of this huge printer so they should work great for you
