I am working with a funny audio clip that contains rather obscene language. How do I censor certain words?

Do I lay a censor sound track over the words, or mute the words first??

okay, here's what to do, watch the video with whoever wants to watch it, then when a swear is said yell out a loud screeching or beeping noise.

It always sounds so much funnier when its beeped out :-)

But yes, Audacity is the best free program to use, real easy. Find the swear word, zoom in on it, then take the middle third of the screen and overdub a beep, that way you get the start of the "OH F***" and the end "K!" for more effect.
