Try it out for yourself, see what you think of it.

In what context? I mean, are your funds limited or are those just the things you already have and want opinions?

In the grand scheme of things that combo is ok if you only have $500 to spend. If you have a bit more cash you could do better.

As far as pedals alone go, I think there are better pedals for the same money but pedals are an acquired taste. If you like the MXR, fantastic.
It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

zakk wylde doesnt even use his own OD.
i dont know what he uses.
but on the BLS website there was a "win zakks ACTUAL pedalboard" contest.
the one he plays on tour.
and no Dunlop ZW-45 wylde wah or MXR zakk wylde overdrive.

EDIT: so if its not good enough for him, its gotta suck, cause he rocks.

MXR ZW OD is noisy as ****. It gives a good tone to a tube amp, if you can bear the horrible hissing and buzzing it produces. Don't rely on Zakk's name being on it to mean it's good. The dude will lend his name to anyone that comes knocking with a sack of money.

I don't know what Zakk is using these days, but his best tone always from from using a Boss SD-1.
