On my high e-string i can't get a good bend. Whenever i bend it gets a muted sounds. Is this because of old strings or some other problem??

Your guitar probably needs to be set up. Take it to a luthier for a fret levelling and neck straightening.

new strings couldnt possibly hurt... try using lighter strings and get a set-up.

maybe youre lifting your fingers up a little when you bend and muting the string?

I had that problem before...I cleaned my fretboard and everything was fine. It's worth a try.

Did anybody think to ask "Hey, what's your fingerboard radius?"?
