So lately ive been thinking of playing bass and ive been looking at this guitar and bass
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-Ultrabass-BXL900-90W-1x12-Bass-Combo?sku=481099
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Rogue-LX205B-5String-Bass?sku=519231
im interested in playing mostly metal.

Don't go for a combo that only has a 12" speaker, if you go for a 2x10" combo only do so if you can add an extension cab without disabling the internal speakers, for guitar a 12" will do, for bass it won't!
G&L L2500
Squier Affinity Jazz Bass 5
Ashdown RPM pre-amp
Ashdown Little Giant 1000
300 watt 15" powered cab
450 watt 15" powered sub bass cab
2x10 + horn
1x15x10 + horn

^I will also advice that whatever the combo Behringer is not good. Rogue is not very good either, but it won't blow up. Try saving up more, I know it's hard, but I've been there.
