does recording an acoustic guitar directly through line in sound very unnatural, it doesnt sound like it does when it is unplugged. is there anyway to help this? or do i absoultely have to buy a nice microphone? i have a toneport ux2 if that helps

the "line in" of a computer i'm guessing, in my experience it jsut sucks, even a 'crummy' mic plugged in the microphone jack will be better :p

USB > Toneport > Toneport Line out > Amp > Guitar

micing an acoustic guitar in a good sounding room is always better,but if the room is too echoey its terrible.
