get an agile or two with the money you'd waste on an epiphone.

rondomusic.net

order an agile of your liking immediately. they're better than epiphones AND cheaper.

i think i can recall the ultras not being so good
The 60s are gone, dope will never be as cheap, sex never as free, and the rock and roll never as great.

Go for the standard, it's really great value. The ultra ain't the thing if you play with a lot of distortion.. Only thing better with the Ultra is it's weight. But a Les Paul should be heavy. I've got a Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty and it's great. You might want to put on some real grovers though. Go for the Standard, you won't regret it.

What do you guys think of the Epiphone Les Paul Specials II's? I can get one for like real cheap but I was wondering what people think of them before I jump im.

I'd go for an Elitist if you want a solidbody, but if you want a sexy hollowbody, look into their Casinos, Rivieras and Sheratons.

They're good beginner guitars, but I thought you wanted the best Les Paul with best pickups? What's your price range? I mean you should go to the guitar store and try everything in your price range, regardless of style and pick the guitar that you like the best. Make sure you try the guitar through an amp similar to the one you will be using so you can hear what it will really sound like.
I listen to music and I don't need your opinions about what I listen to.

i just bought a Epiphone les paul custom and it is way better then the standard. Yes, it costs more but the customs look way, way better. Youll get 2 humbuckers with the les paul which sound really good (better than regular pickups). But if its not the custom, then go with the standard because they are the next best thing and the price isnt too bad either.

justin, that was easily the most inspiring, helpful piece of advice anyone has ever given me in regards to my musical pursuits.
