so my friend said he did something to his amp to get more watts out of it.

what can i do to get more watts? do i ahve to buy stuff?

If its valves/tubes yes you can tweak it as long as you know what you are doing, if it's solid state you could increase the output by lowering the speaker impedence.

There are alot of ways to do it. Most of those ways involve dealing with wires that will kill you if you touch em.

And just so you know, you CAN NOT get more watts out of it by getting a higher output from your guitar.

your friend probably did something with his amp to make it louder, not necessarily giving it more watts

If you want to continue you're going to actually acquire some knowledge of electronics, and be willing to poke around in a mess of wires that will easily kill you.
