I love playing the blues, mostly in the style of Jimi Hendrix and Robert Johnson, but I don't have any knowledge of any blues scales and its beginning to constrict my playing. Can anyone reccomend some good blues scales that'll get me rocking again?

Gracias in Advance.

You don't know any blues scales or you just want a new one?

If you don't know any at all, try THE blues scale

Am
5 8
5 8
5 7 8
5 7
5 6 7
5 8

Basically, you add in a flat fifth. This works with all the pentatonic shapes.

Man I feel like a dumba*s noob but I'm having trouble reading the way you guys are typing the scales, and I"m sure this is the proper way to do it Im just not sure how to read it.

For the one I did, I tabbed out the fingerings, the other guys gave out the steps. It's important to memorize both.

Since you don't seem to know anything about scales, I reccomend www.cyberfret.com and go the scale section to start you off. Unless JohnLJohnes wants to give a big tone-semitone talk again
