I was reading reviews on the schecter c1 classic and a read one review that said "The nut can't really handle lower gauge strings, so if you play metal or use those low gauges, I'd recommend getting a new nut."
What does he mean by nut?

Take it to someone who knows what their donig mate, go to ur local axe shops and see if they can recomend anyone
